"My Son is So Powerful"

My son is powerful.  There are times when I tell him that he shouldn't do
something but instead of listening to me he just smiles.  When I see this smile
I completely loose my self-control and break out into laughter!  This happens
all the time.  My wife and I have talked about my lack of self-control and we
have come to an agreement that I must remain serious while instructing our
son.  But it is not so easy.  His smile is powerful and can break down even the
most stern of people.

I am a pretty easy going person.  I don't get angry all that often; in fact I can't
remember the last time that I was angry.  I speak softly and try to keep myself
composed.  But when it comes to my son's smile, I am completely at a loss.
There are many times when I tell him not to do something and he gives me
that smile, after which I quickly cover my mouth with my hand and turn away so
that he doesn't see me laughing.  As a father, I know that it will become
necessary for me to get a better grasp of myself in such moments.

My son also has a habit of running away from me when he has something in
his hand that he shouldn't have.  I don't chase him around like he wants me to.
Instead, I slowly follow him.  He usually finds a place in the house where he
can hide.  When I find him he gives me this look and I break out into laughter.
Indeed, my son, who is most precious to me, is so very powerful.  But as a
father, I know that I will have to do a better job of keeping myself composed
while guiding my son.
