On February 7th, 2004, my son, Lenon Coltrane Honor, was born.  With his
2nd birthday just a few days away I felt that I should write about him.

"Little" Lenon is an amazing character.  He keeps me and my wife on our toes
and no matter how difficult things might be, he always seems to put things into
perspective for us.  Indeed, it is a blessing to have him in our lives.  We are so
very thankful that he has blessed us with his presence.

As a young father I am learning a great deal from my son. This may sound
strange to some people because the socially accepted relationship between
a father and son is one in which the father teaches the son and the son learns
from the father.  But nothing in life is so absolute.  In fact, I can attest to the fact
that the passing on of knowledge and wisdom is a mutual exchange.

Lesson #1  No matter what, know that you have everything you need

One of the most difficult things for adults to realize is that we already have
everything we need.  In the everyday world, there seems to be much to worry
about. Sometimes I worry about mundane things like household bills, career
choices, gasoline prices, etc.  I also worry about deeper things like the
spiritual condition of humanity, my wife's happiness, my fatherhood
responsibilities, etc.  What amazes me is how my son is worry free.  It is as if
he is continuously aware of the fact that we do indeed have everything we
need.
