AYO HANDY-KENDI demonstrates over 30 years of experience as a wholistic practitioner, Breathologist/Stress Manager, community organizer, and counselor inspiring millions in their growth and development. As CEO of PositivEnergyWorks™, her most recent venture, she offers a health service integrating Breathwork and transformative practices such as Meditation, Reiki, Visualization, Cartharting, Aroma or Laugh Therapy, Diversity trainings, and Life Coaching utilizing 13 principles of PositivEnergy, a charged-up, wholistic, “I can do it” attitude to wellness.
Due to her broad training in breathwork with such masters as Rebirthing Guru, Leonard Orr; The Art of Living Course, Mindfulness Meditation and teacher training in Transcendental Meditation (TM ) in the 70’s, she is considered an authority in the field of breath and transpersonal growth. In 1996, she was credentialed as a Certified Transformational Breath Facilitator (CTBF) from the International Breath Institute of Boulder, Col.
Her breathwork experience helped her heal from childhood sexual abuse and she has witnessed the impact of the “power of the breath” while coaching breath techniques to countless numbers of people on radio, t.v. and in print, helping them to transform their lives, heal their relationships and gain peace.
She is also Certified in Stress Management (CSM) from The School of Natural Health Sciences; Certified in Reiki I and II, Ra Sekhi II, Qi Gong I, II; Certified as a Re-Evaluation Counselor and Drug Treatment/Prevention Counselor; and is a Diversity Trainer certified by NCBI, FECES and NMCI. A 30 year+ vegan, Sister Ayo has studied nutrition, herbs, aroma therapy, reflexology and acupressure.
Holding a BA in Community Organizing from Antioch College; AA in Human Services from Washington Technical Institute, she is also spiritually degreed in overcoming the life challenges of abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, addiction, her mother’s cancer, the violent death of her teenage son and suicide of her oldest brother.
Her commitment to help others “relearn how to breathe for better life and health™” re-ignited Mama Ayo’s, 1982 concept of PositivEnergy™. This “can-do” attitude focuses our attention on what we want, instead of what we don’t want. The 2009 concept is the basis of her “PositivEnergy Empowerment Approach” which further utilizes tools of transformation to manifest our desires for quality life.
